Michael Oher
Played by: Quinton Aaron
Michael is not a made up character. He never did have a family to talk about until he met the Tuohy's. He grew up in a bad area of Memphis Tennessee with a mother addicted to crack and an absent father. When he started highschool, he did not have a home to go to. He was asked multiple times to be in gangs in his old neighborhood, being 6'5 and 350 pounds. It was hard for Michael to stay away from the violence until he met Henderson who had an athletic program. Henderson ended up letting Michael stay with him in an extra room. Michael's grades continued to get worse, and he would cut more classes each year until his GPA was a 0.6. His life finally got better once the Tuohy's officially took him in.
Sean Tuohy, Jr. (SJ)
Played by: Jae Head
SJ is a real person and is no longer 8 years old, now being 21 attending college. He is the one family member who did not attend Ole Miss and is attending Loyola University Maryland for journalism/ marketing. He plays basketball for his school and is in his junior year.

Leigh Anne Tuohy
Played by: Sandra Bullock
Leigh Anne is a real person. A Memphis, Tennessee native, Leigh Anne attended Briarcrest Christian School and graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor’s of Science in Interior Design. Her and her husband, of more than 30 years, own more than 85 fast food chains. They are very involved with Ole Miss both being graduates. She is always giving lectures about the impact Oher made on her and her family's life.
